SEO is an abbreviation for Search Engine Optimisation, but what really is Search Engine Optimisation? Well to put it simply, it is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to a website through organic search engine results.
Search Engines such as Google must determine what websites to rank and on what page depending on the relevancies to the search intent by the user, then to pair it with the best authoritative websites that search engines determine through a meticulous algorithm.
Search Engines deploy crawlers to gather all the information they can find on the Internet and that enables them to build an index, that index then is processed through a algorithm to match data with search query.
It is all dependant on your current standing, what previous SEO you have undertaken and the competition in your niche.
As a general guideline, most websites that are sitting on page two or three of Google search can be elevated to the first page within three month, new businesses on the other hand can take up to six months all depending on the competitiveness of keywords. During these periods, there will be noticeable growth of traffic but essentially the objective is to reach the first page of search engine results.
Think of it like this, if you want a new race horse to suddenly lead the pack overnight, it simply wont happen. It will require training and nurturing for it to become a champion pedigree race horse.
No SEO provider can ever guarantee to get anyone to #1 and if they do say that then it’s a lie. No SEO expert has a special relationship with Google and its ultimately their decision based on their algorithm, its up to us to decipher the algorithm and feed them fuel they want and increase organic traffic.
With over 16 years of marketing expertise, we know that we can drive businesses to first page of search intent all depending on the keyword ranking, ie. if you were trying to rank for the keyword ‘Cola’ we would simply advise that #1 was not possible as you have giants like Coca Cola that have been around for many generations and plough millions in to SEO each year.
Think of an athlete that has been training for the past six month, most likely to be in great shape and conditioning, but if they stop training for three month they will still be in decent condition but over time of not being active, will slowly start to lose performance and form.
